My Favorite Blush Cashmere Sweater

Hey guys! Tooth got me this cashmere sweater for Christmas and I'm in love I'm in love and I don't care who knows it! ;) But seriously, I wouldn't have ever thought to get this for myself just because I get sticker shock easily. But holy smokes you guys, it's the best thing ever! I pray for cooler days just so I can bust this beauty out and it's so comfortable and easy to wear. I dressed it down here, but I've also dressed it up for date night with booties.

These leggings are high-rise and what I reach for on days I feel a bit ... poofy. ;) ha. My leopard rain boots are old but will link tons of cute ones I'm totally digging. And of course, my favorite bag. But for reals, go check out that sweater and treat yo self.

Have I mentioned that I won the high jump in first grade? One of my biggest life accomplishments.

Weekend Baking with the Kiddies {Buttars Bread}

We had so much fun the other morning baking coffee cakes for the family. I haven't done a lot of baking with the kids thus far because it requires so much patience and there is a guaranteed mess at the end! So I decided to set aside a morning that would be spent baking with the kids. I find that when I go into an activity knowing it will be messy, but being mentally prepared for it, it ends up being tons of fun! It's much easier for me to embrace it when I've prepared. It's easier for me to encourage the mess and roll with the punches.

We had a blast! Ryder loved cracking the eggs and I tried to let him be as hands on as possible. Even Blakely got into it and loved watching the mess happen. We made a coffee cake that I've made for years and we call it 'Buttars Bread'. It's a butterscotch coffee cake that we've gifted to friends often and it's basically crack cocaine! But legal. It's so good you guys! I've decided I'm going to give you my top secret recipe. ;) It's so easy, guys. (If you know me at all, you know I do not cook or bake unless it's super easy. Aint nobody got time for that!!) *recipe below

Buttars Bread
(4 coffee cake tins 4x8)

Mix together:
8 eggs
2 yellow cake mix
2 instant jello - butterscotch
2 instant jello - vanilla
2 cups vege oil
2 cups water

Toppings Mixture:
3/4 brown sugar
2 tablespoons cinnamon spice
1 bag butterscotch chips
(I forgot to get butterscotch chips, so we used chocolate chips. Butterscotch is way better!)

Mix everything together. Put 1" of cake batter in coffee tins. Top with the brown sugar and cinnamon mixture. Top with sprinkled butterscotch chips. Add another 1' layer of cake batter. Top with brown sugar and cinnamon mixture. Top with sprinkled butterscotch chips.

Bake for 50 minutes at 350 degrees

If I'm gifting this to neighbors or friends, I wrap it up in cellophane
and tie it up with ribbon. Simple and cute.
If you try this out, I'd love to know! :)
If you post a picture of your Buttars Bread on Instragram,
use #buttarsbread so I can see it! xo

Colorado Winter Style + Snow Storm

We got a little snow storm here in Denver last week and the kids and I loved it! I never used to like the snow growing up. It does come with it's challenges! But it's so beautiful and I have a new found love and appreciation for the blizzards we get. This layered and super cozy outfit is so easy to throw together! I require being comfortable while freezing and out and about in cold weather. When there is a ton of snow on the ground I prefer snow boots that are water proof, but otherwise my Uggs are what I always reach for.

I've been loving floppy hats this fall and winter and recently picked up a couple new colors at Target for a steal of a deal! Loving this green one seen here. This green is a great neutral and goes with everything. I also added a dressier necklace with this outfit to spice it up a bit. Sometimes having something on that feels a bit nicer makes me feel more put together. That and I love mix matching really casual pieces with dressier pieces!

I have two sweaters layered here because this camo sweater is thinner - and has the cutest back! And these leggings are my go-to! I wear them almost every single day. Oops. They are a must and so reasonably priced for quality leggings! I will link everything below. xo

Everyday Outfit + Pops of Color

Happy Monday morning to you all! I found this button up at Target (it's currently on clearance!) and it's such an easy piece to throw on for everyday. It's also really soft and comes in many colors. This will be an easy piece to transition into spring with white jeans and even cut off shorts in the summer.

This mustard scarf is such a fun color - and looks so different with my dark hair these days! I love this knit infinity scarf because it keeps me warm (obvi!) and adds a fun pop of color to this easy outfit. I love the contrast between this knit scarf and turquoise bracelet. This bracelet was a gift from my mom (one piece of a set she received from her grandparents the day she graduated high school) and I love it! I will link similar turquoise pieces below.

I've talked about these leggings a thousand times, but they are a must. Seriously get yourself a pair asap! I wear them preeeeeeetty much every day. These Sorel boots are so comfortable and have a cute wedge. I'm also loving these and these. All different styles and I really like having more than one pair of winter boots during the snowy season.

This LV bag was a gift a couple years ago. I thought I wouldn't use it during the winter months (since it's white!) but I reach for it all the time! I actually love the white/light colored handbag to mix it up in the winter - instead of a basic black bag like a lot of people lean toward in the winter months. Get a similar look with this bag. If you're looking to splurge on a designer handbag, check out Bag Borrow or Steal. They have so many bags, options and great prices. A smaller version of my bag is for sale here. I've heard nothing but great things about this company!

Wishing you all a wonderful Monday. Can't wait to watch the Bachelor tonight! It's insane the amount of joy I get from watching that stupid show in my pjs with a big fluffy blanket and a giant bowl of popcorn! :) Ahhh... Looking forward to it!

Statement Necklace + Patterns

Hey guys! Still getting used to seeing myself with brown hair, but I must admit it's growing on me. I adore this simple but classic look on the blog today. This fun top is from a boutique I found (and fell in love with!) in New York this past fall. & Other Stories.  This boutique is wonderful and I highly recommend it! This is not sponsored, I just love it. This exact top is no longer available (dang it!) but linking tons of adorable polka dot tops below that's I'm digging). I love patterned tops to add a little extra interest to the outfit.

I'm really loving these black jeans, too. They are so comfortable and I love the slight distressed/slit knee. My black fringe booties are from a couple years ago, but linking similar styles below. I am currently really loving the cut of these fringe booties!

My favorite bag and statement necklace (similar here) take this outfit up a notch. This necklace is from BaubleBar a couple years ago, but again will link similar styles. You can never go wrong with a statement necklace! This is the easiest way to dress up an outfit! I am a necklace hoarder but love ones like this where they are neutral and go with everything.

I've also been wearing this necklace everyday since I got it (it's personalized with my kiddies initials). Seriously haven't taken it off! I love layering it with the necklace my hubby gave me on our wedding day. But a similar look to that would be layering the personalized bar necklace with this one. I think this necklace is so beautiful for everyday!

I'm wearing Mac's 'ruby woo' red lipstick. They have so many beautiful reds! Wishing you all a wonderful day! Scroll to bottom of post to shop this look! xo
